Former Durham County Cricket Club Head Groundsman Starts Lawn Care Business

David Measor, former Head Groundsman at Durham International Cricket Ground recently started his Lawn Master franchise in the Newcastle and Durham area.
David has worked all of his life in the turf care industry, which is a total of in excess 35 years experience in the North East.
His career in the grounds industry spans back to the 1970s where David undertook a six-month training scheme at Seaton Carew Cricket Club. David enjoyed the experience at Seaton and stepped up to be Head Groundsman a year later when the job became available. He spent the next 14 years working there and built up vast knowledge and experience in the maintenance of Cricket Grounds.
After a total of 15 years, David moved to Hartlepool Cricket Club in Park Drive to work as Head Groundsman. David worked here until 1995. During this time he hosted first class cricket where thousands of fans attended.
Moving to Durham
In 1995, David moved to the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground to work beside the Head Groundsman until his retirement in 1999. David then took over the management of the grounds and during this time has become one of the most recognised groundsmen in the industry for his efforts and achievements.
During his time at Durham, David has twice been named runner up in four-day test category ECB Head Groundsman of the Year Award in 2011 and 2013.
Joining Lawn Master as the largest group of lawn care professionals in the UK is now David’s next step in his turf care career. He is delighted to be able to provide homeowners across Newcastle and Durham with his services and expert advice to maintain their lawns in excellent condition.
