3rd Harleyford Golf Club Greenkeeper Growing Lawn Care Business
17th Jun 2014
We were delighted when Scott Horsburgh, a former Harleyford Golf Club greenskeeper approached us last year to ask about running his own franchise in around the Sutton, Epsom and Banstead areas of Surrey.
Scott enquired after conversations with Simon Marsh of how his business was growing in the Kingtson upon Thames area. Simon is related to Scott and also worked at Harleyford for a number of years, helping the course win a HSBC Gold Medal award in 2008.
The first greenkeeper from the club to join us was Matt Evans in 2008, who operates in the Oxford and Hemel Hempstead areas.
Since starting with us in March, Scott has already established himself as the expert to turn to if you would like a quality lawn care service and expert lawn maintenance advice.
Scott first started his career over 15 years ago at Pyrford and Traditions Golf Club where he worked for 3 years. After gaining a firm understanding of golf course maintenance, he worked with Matt and Simon for a number of years, playing a major role in the upkeep of the prestigious course.
Most recently, Scott worked for Farnham golf club as 1st Assistant, which included preparing the course for various celebrity and charity golf days. Farnham Golf Club also hosts the largest annual pro-am event.
Working with the Experts
During his time at Farnham, Scott worked alongside the world renowned course architect, Tom Mckenzie and course constructor Frank Lovell for the re-design of several holes and greens on the course. Working alongside these people allowed Scott to learn about design and golf course maintenance to the highest level.
So, if you are looking for a qualified greenskeeper or lawn care specialist in Surrey, then get in touch with Scott today. He will be delighted to provide you with a plan to bring your lawns up to a professional standard.
