Scarification

Scarification is completed with a powerful machine that removes the thatch layer and debris. This is crucial for healthy sward.

Lawn Master uses the latest pedestrian machines, that have bladed drums that revolve at very high speed to drag out the thatch layer from the lawn.

Removal of debris and thatch is crucial for healthy sward.

Regular thatch removal will keep your lawn looking at its best.

Feeding of the lawn should not be continued over the top of a thatch layer, as this can lead to the plant taking in the feed via the leaf rather than the roots.

If you have a lawn that seems very spongy, then it may be a thatch problem. However, it could also be a feed problem, due to overfeeding with the wrong feed, for example. (Click here for fertiliser knowledge)

Aeration

Aeration is one of the single most important treatments that you can perform on a lawn. This is done mainly at the end of the year, and is completed by a heavy machine that pushes a tine bar into the soil, and removes a core throwing it onto the surface of the lawn.

This application then allows air and moisture to enter the soil. It also relieves the sub surface compaction caused by foot traffic or clay type soils, and affects the exchange of gases between the soil and atmosphere.

Lawn Master is also able to complete hollow tine aeration. This is another form of respiration that is more applicable on wetter lawns, where pulling a core out will have little or no advantage, as the hole will soon close up after removing the core.
